I feel fortunate to have heard Chris Brady speak last night. He is the #11 Personal Development leader in the WORLD. As we strive to "live mindfully in the present" (one of the goals of Family Tree Quest), let us live "on purpose", so that those we love will have the most benefit as we share the light of our influence to change some of the generational junk still hanging around and keep the beauties and wisdom we can glean from our past.

What if you could create the LIFE you've always dreamed of?  Well, we can!  We are creators (through the thoughts we think and the decisions we make), and we aren't happy unless we're  making conscious, mindful choices and making decisions in alignment with our purpose for being here and making a contribution. 




I love to have fun and rest and relax.  Everybody needs some of that.  Yet mindfully contributing to the important relationships in life is what brings me the most JOY!

Take charge of our own life, and live it well.

New Granddaughter

Hello everyone.   

We've had a new, darling granddaughter.

Looking forward to Mother's day.  How about you?

My mother has passed on.  Miss her every Mothers day, however.  I do feel fortunate to have some really good memories and to have felt of her loving kindness all the days of my life.

A Thief and Things of Real Value

Interesting.  My husband opened a birthday card from his mother.  There was supposed to be a precious coin (valuable) inside, along with his birthday check to buy a gift.  The coin was missing--the envelope sealed tightly (probably by the thief who took the coin out).  The impression of the coin was still on the envelope.  Bless his heart, the thing of most value to my husband was the sentiment his mother chose to express through the message on the card (which was not a common sentiment for her to express).  It was of more value than anything else. 

When we die, we can take the love (and the influence of that love) with us, but NOT the money.

Makes me ponder the thought that my own father could not remember his dad ever giving him a hug or telling him he loved him.  (Food for thought).  My dad, however, was one of the most loving men I've EVER known.  Kind, thoughtful, and fun-loving--a real tease.  We make our own choices, regardless of our circumstances.  My dad also had the influence of his mother--a woman with spunk, homespun charm and twinkling eyes (that went right along with her sense of humor).

Also, since Easter is next Sunday, this evokes the thought that it was a thief who was on the cross next to the cross of Jesus, to whom Jesus spoke.  He took on the sins of everyone--including thieves, while providing the opportunity for all of us to make things right with God, our Heavenly Father, IF we would sincerely ask forgiveness and change our ways to follow His teachings.  Reminds me that to HOLD on to grudges, disappointments and anger only injures US and keeps us separate from having a fulness of joy and happiness.

If we want to be forgiven, we must forgive.

End of Year Posts

Christmas Cards?

I love making connections with old friends at Christmas.  Even tho others have dropped the tradition of sending Christmas Cards, it's one thing I still value.  The expense, however was getting more than I could bear.  I would send a MINIMUM of 75 cards.

Last year, I decided to send most of my cards via American Greetings.
I've also loved receiving photo cards via Smilebox.

I recommend them both.  The free options are nice, but I finally subscribed to American Greetings.  They let me send cards all year for a VERY low price. (I even post birthday greetings to Facebook and love the convenience).

Hope to get my "cards" out this weekend.  How about you?
