Never Ever Give Up

Family Tree Friday

Everyone can have a powerful impact on their family tree. Simple acts of love can sometimes seem extraordinary. I was moved to tears by this video. I described it to one of my daughters, who had seen it long ago, and it prompted the same tears from her now—as it did then.

Watch as a young man who was favored to win the 400-meter race in the Barcelona Summer Olympics faced his excruciating disappointment.
We may not all have fathers like his, but we can BE that kind of father (or mother) or loved one.

There are concourses of family and friends in heaven applauding each of your efforts, no matter how faltering you think your efforts are.
They see the bigger picture and want the best for your family line.
THEY are YOUR cheering section.

YOUR RACE is NOT over.

For Generational Change-makers (see www.familytreequest.com)
Most likely, you see the picture of your life only in part when you look only at your painful past. Positive living lies ahead if you choose it. Gather the strengths you’ve received from your collected experiences. Glean the wisdom (as we say at www.familytreequest.com). Run the race valiantly with Heavenly Father’s help.

This is a must see.

Winding Down

Talk About It Tuesday

It's the simple things of life that make living worthwhile,
the sweet fundamental things
such as love and duty,
work and rest
and living close to nature.

--Laura Ingalls Wilder

Mortal life seems to be winding down for my sweet neighbor of whom I spoke in my posts about "Living Into Loneliness". ( Post #1 click here. Post #2 click here.)

Receiving the diagnosis of lung cancer, she is now receiving Hospice care. This has been a time of great reflection and adjustment for me.

I know most of us have had experiences with loved ones dying. There is such sorrow in parting, yet memories of the laughter and good times sustain us. I love laughing with my neighbor and will continue to do so as long as her health permits.

I'm once again watching how life is enriched with the simple things. It comes back to that in the end. It's our relationships and loving connections that mean the most.

What are your thoughts?
